MBA in Healthcare Management

Description
The MBA program in Healthcare Management is focused on health services management. Graduates will be qualified to manage a variety of health-related establishments such as hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, medical and dental practices and clinics, and assisted living and elder care establishments. Grads may also pursue management positions with medical and pharmaceutical product distributors and insurance enterprises.

Institutional and Program Accreditation South Carolina State University is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SC State University’s MBA program is accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Delivery Format
Classes are delivered in a hybrid format including evening and Saturday classes at the main campus in Orangeburg and through videoconferencing at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in Charleston. A portion of the coursework is also delivered online in the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Technology Requirements
A computer with Internet connectivity is required for coursework delivered online.

Note: All graduate students officially enrolled in 13 hours or more will be required to pay per credit hour for all hours in excess of 12 hours at the in-state/out-of-state rate.

Admissions Requirement Admission to the MBA Program is open to prospective students with a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited college or university. Students lacking undergraduate coursework in business may be required to take up to 12 hours of foundation courses in accounting, economics, finance and management or marketing, in addition to the curricula for the MBA program. In some cases, significant professional work experience will be considered in lieu of undergraduate business coursework. The MBA Admissions Committee will consider the following factors in granting full admission to the MBA Program:

  • Undergraduate GPA (2.75 or higher)
  • GMAT Score
  • Statement of Objectives
  • Letters of Recommendation (3 required)
  • Work Experience
  • Resume
